Each board is then meticulously prepared, run across the jointer to ensure a perfectly straight edge and sized to the exact specifications. The process of assembling the casket is a delicate dance of precision and artistry. Our custom-built jigs ensure a flawless fit, while the lid, with its intricate double compound angle, demands the utmost skill and attention to detail. The boards with the most character are reserved for the lid, adding a touch of individuality to each creation. The sanding process is a labor of love, with each casket meticulously sanded by hand, starting with 100 grit and progressing to a smooth 320 grit finish. This meticulous attention ensures a surface that is not only beautiful but also incredibly smooth and durable. Finally, multiple coats of clear finish are applied and carefully sanded between coats, creating a deep luster and a luxurious feel. The entire process is a testament to our dedication to creating caskets that are as unique and meaningful as the individuals they honor.
